LATEST UPDATE - 30/03/2021

Backwell Tennis Club Reopening

As members may be aware, we are able to reopen the club and courts from Monday, 29th March in accordance with Government and LTA guidelines - on the assumption that the Government review of progress against its roadmap is positive. From that date the full range of club activities - singles and doubles, organised club play and our coaching programme - will recommence. The first club evening session of the new season will be on Tuesday, 30th March at 6.00 pm - followed by the normal Thursday evening (starting at 6.30 pm) and Saturday afternoon sessions (2.00 - 5.00 pm). Please continue to record your names in the register for track and trace purposes.

Ben Tilling will be sending out separate details of the coaching programme and Easter camps.

The team captains intend to resume the club internal matches on Friday evenings from Friday 2nd April and will be in touch on this and the position on restarting league matches in due course.
The clubhouse kitchen and seating area will remain closed. You may, however, use the toilets and the floodlight meter box. Please continue to observe hygiene and social distancing guidelines and use the hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial wipes provided, particularly when using the toilets.

In order to minimise further disruption to play this year, I am pleased to report that your committee have decided we can postpone the resurfacing of courts 3, 4 & 5 until at least next year. And finally - enjoy your tennis - it has been a long wait!

Richard Gaunt, Club Chair.
